I am currently an employee of Jaguar Land Rover, with over a decade of experience working as an Engineer across our Midlands manufacturing sites.I completed a 4 year Advanced Modern Apprenticeship with JLR, followed by a BSc Engineering (Hons) degree at Coventry University.Outside of my normal working environment, I am an FA Level 2 Qualified Football Coach, and also hold a Level 1 Goalkeeping Certificate.     Within my role as an Engineer on the F-Pace, Velar & Range Rover Sport models within the Current Manufacturing Engineering department for Body in White, I was responsible for overseeing the handover of the processes and vehicle from AME to CME, as well as interacting with other technologies to ensure the launch process runs smoothly.Once the vehicle was into full production, my role reverted to general CME duties as detailed below, but I also oversaw the introduction of further models onto our platform. As part of my daily roles and responsibilities, I was expected to lead projects relating to quality and productivity, as well as monitoring and reacting to all of the metrics that we as a department were responsible for. Within my work area, I was responsible for several assemblies and this consists of looking to improve the processes in which they come together and to deliver constant improvements to the dimensional integrity. As a summary, my key responsibilities were as follows:• Improvements to the dimensional stability and capability of the vehicle• Manage and complete key quality projects relating to the body shop• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure fixturing and parts are of the highest quality• Feedback to senior managers at weekly meetings (5F, MTC, PQR)• Utilise CATIA experience to interrogate assemblies for dimensional variations against specification• Ensure each process has a suitable QPS / WES that has been verified against the GSPAS• Develop new strategies including quality checks to ensure all defects are dealt with in house (Kaizen, Pro-Active Approach)
