Responsibility for managing Server Message Block (SMB) protocol team and data performance analysis team for the ZFS Storage Appliance. Previously managed ZFS filesystem, data replication, SCSI protocol, NVME, and performance teams. Collaborated with Oracle Public Cloud team to deliver enhancements necessary for their success.

Managed replication, SCSI target and ZFS filesystem teams for the ZFS Storage Appliance. Introduced Agile methodology to team. Increased team size by 50% with aggressive hiring to rebuild after significant attrition. Developed new tools and development methodology to support the evolution of the ZFS Storage Appliance from an internal startup at Sun, focused in San Francisco, to a mainline Oracle product, with development across many geos.

Developed architecture for future external LSI/Engenio RAID controllers. Specialized in RAS for RAID controllers. Responsible for portions of architecture using virtualization on the controller. Worked with hardware teams to ensure their hardware designs met needs of the software teams.

From 2006-2008, relocated to Beijing to support moving the Solaris block storage initiator to Beijing. Trained a group of 10 engineers who assumed responsibility for FibreChannel, iSCSI, multipath and SCSI disk drivers for Solaris. Worked as a senior engineer on the FibreChannel team, and delivered support for NPIV in a Solaris Xen environment.From 2006-2006, worked in Broomfield, Colorado. Initial work was to support a multipath driver for Sun T3/T4 RAID Storage on AIX, Linux and HP-UX. Later, worked on Solaris FibreChannel and iSCSI initiator device drivers.

Wrote embedded software for a RAID controller using C++. Main focus was read and write cache algorithms for Chaparral's RAID controllers.Chaparral was acquired by dothill, who was acquired by Seagate.

Initially worked on device drivers for a Serial Storage Architcture (SSA) storage controller. Later, developed the embedded firmware for a RAID controller. This piece of the company was later spun off into Chaparral Network Storage.

Wrote embedded firmware for StorageTek's tape libraries. Responsible for porting and writing code to support the library controller. Wrote device drivers to support Ethernet connectivity.

Wrote embedded software for a DoD reconnaissance satellite ground station controller. Initially wrote code for a proprietary RTOS; later wrote device drivers in AIX in support of this mission.
