Associate Director Of The Center For Innovation In Legal Education

Salt Lake City, Ut, Us

My role as Associate Director of the Center for Innovation in Legal Education was multifaceted. Learning Materials: I had created and maintained a very popular YouTube page that consisted of my work as an instructional designer and educator. In just over two and a half years, I had gained nearly 5000 subscribers and a half million views - with minimal advertisement. I based my work in multimedia theory and have a knack at straddling the line of theory and practice.App Development: I drove the site development for TheFirstYear.org (since disbanded), an asynchronous learning website that consists of videos specifically made for the first year of law school. I was responsible for creating the videos, advising on the assessments, and also for coding and database design and development. I had also built item response systems to analyze the efficacy of our multiple choice, true-false, and other assessments.Pedagogical Design: I overhauled the Counter-terrorism Simulation Design course in collaboration with Professor Amos Guiora to make the course more pedagogically effective. We had effectively designed an active, experiential learning experience that was replicated for other classes and organizations. Also, I worked with faculty on making more effective teaching materials. For example, I worked with numerous faculty on updating and revising their syllabi, teaching presentations, in-class multimedia, and also their assessments used in class.Outreach: Finally, I expanded the reach of CILE by presenting to faculty at other law schools and at legal education conferences across the nation.
