I am the Global Co-Chair of Pillsbury’s Corporate Investigations & White Collar Defense team, and lead the firm's Southern California white-collar practice. My practice also focuses on internal investigations, intellectual property litigation, and criminal and civil trial work, with an emphasis on securities, health care, the False Claims Act, and intellectual property theft and piracy. I also advise clients on Corporate Governance issues and the implementation of corporate compliance programs.I spent almost seven years as a federal prosecutor in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles. I tried numerous complex fraud cases, including securities, bank, tax, investment, and insurance fraud. In addition, I spearheaded the Internet and computer crime prosecutions for the U.S. Attorney's Office, serving as the Computer and Telecommunications Crimes Coordinator. I also served as the acting chief and deputy chief of the Major Frauds Section. During that time, I handled numerous oral arguments in the Ninth Circuit. These positions have provided extensive experience with trials and appeals, grand jury proceedings and other government investigations, and compliance programs.
