Led agile development team of 5 Sr. and Lead analysts to provide operational analytics and process automation supporting the needs of Global Inventory Management teams and partners. Utilizing inventory management domain knowledge and partnership with users to identify key business problems and finding ways to solve them efficiently with technical solutions.Led modernization and re-platforming of the Atlas product (web automation and analytics) from VBA to python. This work enables automations in modern applications and greatly enhances the analytical/algorithmic capabilities of Atlas.Developed allocation algorithm to determine how to best position inventory downstream ahead of need to support network capacity challenges from 2021-2023. More than 500M units have been moved using this process to ensure DCs have the space to support the unprecedented sales and inventory growth.Developed analytical models for Back to School/College item-location-week forecast validation to ensure accurate product positioning. This work helped to deliver 3.8% and 8.1% comps for BTC and BTS respectively and enabled OOS% under goal for the 2019 season.Partnered with product teams across multiple product portfolios (Inv Mgmt, Item, Merchandising, Planning) to develop prototypes and bridge state solutions enabling them to test new capabilities and supported gaps during transition from legacy to modern applications.Maintain and provide support for 200+ automations and reporting tools used by over 900 unique users more than 7,000 times/day. These capabilities deliver more than 1.5M hours of time savings per year.

Responsible for planning, prioritization of work, and providing technical direction for Atlas, a VBA based process automation and reporting product.Developed forecasted inventory plan used by our largest grocery vendor (C&S wholesalers) to estimate future demand, ensuring product is available upstream to meet Target's need.Implemented standardized intake process, backlog management with Jira, version control with Github, and continuous integration and deployment. These tools and routines enabled us to more quickly and accurately meet users needs.Created postgresql database and node.js API to collect usage statistics helping us to quantify the impact and help proactively identify trends which could indicate problems in the application.

Supported clients in Merchant Strategy and Insights team, with a focus on Target's Toys, Electronics, and Entertainment categories. Delivered ad hoc analytics to provide insights which informed and shaped merchandising strategy.Created a self-service reporting solution for clients giving them direct access to the most frequently requested data. This reduced analyst workload and gave the clients immediate access to review key promotions and new release performance.Developed expertise in Teradata database functionality and efficient usage. Using this knowledge I was able to identify opportunities to enhance our data structure and view designs. By partnering with the data warehouse development teams I was able to get these changes implemented in our production environment.Using my knowledge of Target's database management tools (ERWIN, Datastation, Adaptive) I was able to create a data dictionary that provided definitions for most of the views and columns in our data warehouse. My 'unofficial' metadata has since been shared with all of the BI&A teams and is the most complete documentation of the enterprise data warehouse available to analysts.

Represented the business requirements during the development of IMN (Item Management Application) system enhancements throughout all phases of the SDLC (software development lifecycle). Responsible for framing and writing requirements, user interaction, testing, documentation, and communication for each release. Managing up to 4 concurrent releases in various stages of the development lifecycle with an average of 15 different enhancements per release.Developed subject matter expertise in Target's item data and the data structure. With my knowledge of the business and the technical architecture of the data I was given the responsibility of partnering with the Enterprise Services development team defining the attributes that needed to be in the ODS (Operational Data Store) and the bundles to be exposed through the APIs.As a side project, in response to process bottlenecks I identified in my role I taught myself VBA and created an Excel based application to automate over 40 different merchant tasks. It is used over 2,000 times per day saving an estimated 950,000 labor hours over the past 2 years. This application takes data from merchants existing reports or connects to different data sources to compile the required information and then automatically inputs that data into the different web applications.

Facilitated the onboarding and training of the merchant teams to Target's new item management application. Partnered with merchant teams to remediate problematic data prior to migration to the new application. Provided post-rollout support to teams as questions arose and helped escalate technical defects to the appropriate development teams for quick resolution.Developed workload forecasting tool to enable our team to better predict peaks and valleys in our bandwidth for better resource allocation.Took on the Application Testing Lead responsibilities to backfill open position on development team. Was responsible for Regression and Lifecycle portions of UAT (User Acceptance Testing) including, planning scope, writing test scripts, executing/managing the execution of test cases, defect management, and engaging business partners across pyramids to ensure new functionality would seamlessly integrate with existing systems.
