I like problem solving and puzzles. Creating maintainable, efficient, and robust code is a puzzle that I enjoy solving. Using design tools I can get a good idea of what functionality a program needs to have, what test cases are needed to verify it, and an understanding of how a client will use it, all before a single line of code is written.
