In September 2022, I was elected to band council of my community Chawathil First Nation. My portfolios include Housing, Economic Development, Finance and Taxation. I am responsible for ensuring policies are followed, and strategies are developed to improve the quality of living for our members.

The Bigger Than Me Podcast is focused on interviewing role models and leaders. The interviews are usually 2-3 hours long where the guest is asked about their personal background, family, career, community involvement and the adversity they have overcome. Previous guests include Indigenous leaders, artists, professors, authors, and small business owners.

Served as Native Courtworker from January 2018 - March 2021. Assisted First Nations, Inuit, Metis and Non-status peoples through the judicial system. Spoke to bail, and sentencing hearings regarding “Gladue factors” and community resources available to the accused. Liaised with criminal justice personnel on behalf of the accused to address underlying factors of the criminal charge. Researched and authored a document called “Building Relationships between Indigenous Communities and Criminal Justice Accused.” The document contained the history, preferred approach to justice, and appropriate resources for each First Nation community.In April 2021, Aaron transitioned into Social Media Manager for the NCCABC to help raise awareness of the work and impact the organization has on the community.In September 2021, Aaron returned to serving the community as a Native Courtworker. He now provides training to new Native Courtworkers.

As a Business Recovery Advisor I support Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses,communities and not-for-profits by providing one-on-one support to ensure that owners andmanagers are able to effectively and efficiently access programs and services that will assist withtheir ongoing sustainability.

Assisted in the education of a child with autism.The child was taught Math, Science, Reading, and Physical Education at athird-grade level.Monitored behaviour and focused on positive and negative reinforcements tosupport the child’s development.
