About Aaron Garth
Every innovative story has a beginning, and Aaron's begins in an average Australian household in Melbourne's northern suburbs. Tragedy hit his family when as a seven year old his family lost a child. This event had lasting effects on Aaron's family eventually leading his parents to divorce when he was seventeen. Primary and high school was tough, culminating in Aaron being suspended many time over and dropping out in year 12. Subsequently, Aaron found himself on a road that was very quickly going to end with him in jail or dead. With the help of some great youth workers and steadfast friends Aaron was able to turn that story around. In 2003 as a 21-year-old Aaron began working as a youth worker in a local church. As an untrained and relatively unsupported worker he knew he needed to get some knowledge and support behind him. Shortly after taking on this role Aaron began a process of education in the human services culminating in gaining a Bachelor of Social Science (Youth Work), a Master of Social Work and now Aaron being a PhD Candidate. Today, Aaron spends his time encouraging a new generation of youth workers to become the best they can be through his work supervising and training with Ultimate Youth Worker while working to keep valuable employees in the sector in his role as CEO of UltimateEAP.The potential of great training and professional development to encourage and support amazing youth work practice is why Aaron now spends much of his time working with organisations to develop and implement employee assistance, supervision and training programs for youth and community workers.
