Support multiple public sector customers by helping adopt Red Hat products to drive business value. Supported multiple development and test environments involving the customization of identity and biometric solutions for many of the nation’s public safety and national security systems. Utilized many technologies including Red Hat Linux, CentOS, VMware, Atlassian tools, and others. Introduced and supported the adoption of devops practices to include infrastructure as code, committing to a source control system, and using automation tools such as ansible, terraform, and jenkins to deploy system components. This enabled for more rapid consumption and accelerated our development and testing life cycle.

Lead the team that managed the division’s IaaS environments utilizing Red Hat Openstack, VMware and other enterprise services, such as enterprise storage, DNS, Nagios, Red Hat Satellite, and server infrastructure. Worked on providing more deployment and configuration automation primarily through the use of Ansible and CI/CD pipelines. Assisted internal enterprise teams that maintained complex national government systems utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows servers. Supported team members by working collaboratively on projects and troubleshooting and using paired programming techniques to develop automation that enabled more repeatable and consistent results with less technical debt.

Maintained an infrastructure as a service environment utilizing VMware, RHEL, Windows, and other shared enterprise services. Supported team members by sharing knowledge about issues and fixes to empower the team’s successfulness in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the system.

Maintained a complex national government system utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers for the majority with some Windows servers as well. Managed server migrations from RHEL 5 to RHEL 6, including troubleshooting and upgrades of certain applications to maintain existing infrastructure processes. Excelled in supporting team members by sharing knowledge about issues and fixes to empower the team’s successfulness in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the system.

Acted as the lead network/systems administrator and point of contact for all data center and systems/network infrastructure activities at a mid-level hospital facility including storage maintenance, Active Directory and Exchange environment maintenance, VMware vSphere 4 environment maintenance, Brocade and Cisco network infrastructure maintenance, and Windows Server maintenance. Lead multiple enterprise-wide projects such as a Cisco wireless solution, an Active Directory domain and Exchange upgrade, a disaster recovery site utilizing VMware, a beta-level EMR system for the hospital’s emergency department, and a Cisco phone system implementation from a traditional PBX phone system. Well-respected leader and innovator within the hospital’s IT team and lead and participated in many progressive changes and advancements within the enterprise’s system and network infrastructure.
