Neocon International produces automotive cargo mats for trunk or cargo areas as well as cargo organizers (underseat, behind-seat, etc) for various automotive OEM customers. Neocon works closely with most of the auto manufactures such as Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Subaru, Mazda, Ford, Chrysler, GM, etc and produces approximately 70-100,000 units per month. Working as Quality Manager, oversee day-to-day needs of two quality engineers, one continuous improvement engineer and one quality technician as they work to launch new products, support manufacturing activities and deal with any customer issues. Compile business and quality performance metrics to review areas for increased focus related to cost of poor quality and customer satisfaction. Work to reduce paperwork and reporting tasks through increased usage of Microsoft Access and barcoding.Work with manufacturing group to reduce machine downtime by redesigning machinery to reduce failure & modifying sensors locations to reduce wear, reduce defect creation by improving operator instructions and making processes more compliant, improve speed of changeovers and product consistency by reprogramming the HMI screens to be able to save and re-use the machine settings from the previous manufacturing run.Responsible for championing and maintaining the facilities TS/ISO 16949 Quality System and ISO 14001 Environmental System.

This facility was involved in the manufacture of automotive leaf springs from raw steel, to assembled product as a Tier 1 automotive supplier. This bulk of the product at this facility supported the Detroit three, and produced on average approximately 15,000 units per day.Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of various machinery at this facility, specifically, heat treat furnaces, an Autophoretic paint line as well as various assembly work cells. This involved working with skilled trades in a unionized environment, designing improvements to machinery to reduce or eliminate downtime, reduce scrap or rework rates, or increase throughput of bottleneck proceses. I was also involved in new capital installations ranging from relocation of large volume heat treat furnaces from other factories to our plant, installation of robotic busing installation addition to a assembly work station which eliminated an offline process as well as the associated routing of material through this station prior to assembly, design and build of a new bushing assembly machine including PLC programming and assistance designing a new automated assembly work cell.Was part of the team that implemented ISO 14001 at this facility.
