Intern in the department of bilateral and EU relations to countries of East Africa, Horn of Africa and Islands of the Western Indian Ocean Tasks included: - Drafting congratulation and condolence letters to other state representatives for the German Foreign Minister and the President. - Answering inquiries by German citizens (Bürgeranfragen) regarding countries in the area of the department’s responsibility (in particular: Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan).- Preparation of relevant accompanying documents and explanations (e.g. state of affairs reports) for meetings between management level/Foreign Minister and their foreign counterparts. - Creation and updating of country information on the website of the Federal Foreign Office including coordination with the responsible departments and diplomatic missions abroad. - Participation in international (virtual) coordination meetings and creation of minutes (especially regarding Sudan, IORA and the Horn of Africa). - Further cross-departmental tasks, e.g. creation of tweets for Twitter channels of the Federal Foreign Office and support of events outside the task field of the Africa department
