About Aaron Hardy
Aaron Hardy is a Co-Founder and CTO at MedRebel. He possess expertise in asp.net, actionscript, css, databases, flex and 16 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Aaron was my assigned mentor when I interned at Adobe in 2018, and I couldn't have had a better introduction to the software engineering world. I immensely enjoyed our time breaking things, fixing things, and joking around. It didn't take long for me to pin Aaron as the engineering example I wanted to become. He is passionate about the experience of customers and is vocal in advocating for their needs. His communication skills are unmatched. He listens until he fully understands, and teaches until you fully understand. He's not afraid to ask questions and encourages others to do the same. He will often disagree with proposed solutions or roadmap priorities if he thinks they're the wrong move. Even if he's the only one that feels a certain way, he will voice it. I have come to believe that is a necessary quality in an engineer. Having Aaron's diverse voice always led to more thought-out and robust products. Aaron is a marvel to work with. He's funny, curious, and a brilliant engineer. I am awed at how well he manages his overflowing plate of tasks while still leaving room to have a good time with his coworkers and make everyone feel welcome. I miss working with Aaron and am so honored I was able to. I owe a lot to him. I wouldn't be the engineer I am today without his influence. Here are a few of my favorite technical lessons from Aaron: - Don't put too much pressure on yourself - Voice your opinion, especially when you disagree - Don't be afraid to learn as you go - Take the time to analyze, plan, and do it right I'll forever be grateful for him and our friendship.", "I had the pleasure to be Aaron's manager those past 2 years, and myself and our team will forever cherish the memories we made together. Amazing, smart and thoughtful (More on that later) who doesn't take himself too seriously while taking his craft so seriously; that makes him such a unique and ideal software engineer and great friend. Aaron is the "Disagreeable Giver" (Adam Grant): very knowledgeable technically on all levels: Design, Architecture, coding documentation and more. He likes to voice his opinion and share his disagreement, which helps the team view things from different angles. He also enjoying sharing his knowledge and mentoring junior engineers and improve their careers. One of Aaron's top priority is the customers' experience when using our product, which makes him want to build and ship the best software, and accompany it with docs and materials to make the customers’ lives easier. Seeing our projects succeed means a lot to him. I miss working with Aaron, but I am happy that I made a friend for life.", and "I imagine there are extremely rare gems in all professional fields, but when it comes to the software development industry and enterprise-class engineering, Aaron is without a doubt exactly that. It’s difficult to convey on a resume or a LinkedIn bio the extremely rare talents that Aaron possesses. He is not only a brilliant mind, but compliments that intelligence with an impressive passion for his work, all while remaining extremely humble. Having worked with Aaron for years across multiple teams and numerous projects, I can attest that his desire to create amazing customer experiences and commitment to high quality software never waivers. He truly advocates for those he is creating a product for. He is one of those high performers that puts his whole self into his work and cares deeply about it’s success. That is very difficult to train or replicate. In fact everything he worked on, almost instantly, became better as a result of his involvement. I never did cease to be amazed at his uncanny ability to see around corners when putting his architecture and coding skills to work. Being able to predict edge cases and think through complex scenarios to propose solutions to problems we hadn’t even thought of was nothing short of impressive. Not only a developer but a true engineer. In addition to all that, Aaron has an inspiring passion for mentoring and teaching others. He is so good at it! I frequently had requests from people across the company asking to be mentored by him. (The kind of talent that attracts more talent.) He is a gifted public speaker and a fantastic technical writer. Without even being asked, he often went above and beyond writing blog posts, recording video tutorials, adding new documentation, etc. all because he knew they would improve the holistic experience of using the application(s) he was creating. He also has a passion for open-source and a connection to the developer community that was invaluable and cultivated over many years. There truly is no way to quantify the massive contributions Aaron has made to his employer, his teammates, his customers, and particularly to me. He taught me so much over the years that I am eternally grateful for and I sincerely consider it an honor to know Aaron and to have worked along side him."
