I was responsible for external communications at the prestigious human rights charity.Two important achievements were producing the AIRElumni series and rebooting the Centre’s newsletter. With AIRElumni, I worked with board chair Paul Yates to interview former interns about their careers and turn the conversations into content. I came up with a strategy to realise Paul’s ambition for the series, then put it into action. This included: - Tracking down alumni, pitching the series to them, and scheduling interviews.- Working with Paul to develop engaging questions. - Recording, editing, and captioning interviews, then uploading them to YouTube.- Transcribing them and publishing on Medium and MailChimp. - Promoting the series on social media and encouraging engagement.The series led to renewed involvement from alumni and an increase in donations. I also reimagined and relaunched the newsletter. As well as news and updates from the Centre, there would be engaging articles on important legal issues. Overseeing it involved: - Working with staff and interns on what to write about. - Editing or redrafting their articles. - Ensuring that the newsletter was published on time. - Promoting it on social media. After a few months, the readership figures went from less than a third of the mailing list to over half. This helped increase donations.

I worked with OxNet — Pembroke College’s wider participation programme. The programme trains pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds how to apply to top universities and write academic essays.My responsibilities included:- Assessing how well students communicate information and ideas- Judging the strengths and weaknesses of their work over time- Explaining how they can improve the quality of their writing

I helped CEO Matt Kennedy run a flexible workspace company. My responsibilities included:- Designing and implementing a new company-wide reporting structure. - Creating an apprenticeship scheme. - Overhauling the filing system and making it digital. - Redesigning the company's pitch to landlords and property agents. - Developing strategies for new business opportunities and new partnerships. - Scanning for bureaucratic bottlenecks and removing them from the company.

I handled communications for Damien Moore, the MP for Southport. My responsibilities included…- Acting as his spokesperson, as well as being the primary contact for any enquiries. - Devising and drafting communication strategies for any snap general election.- Managing the media and advertisement budget.- Writing speeches for public engagements, as well as for the House of Commons. - Writing press releases. - Conducting research on which platforms constituents use to get their news, then using that data to decide where best to place stories about the MP. - Conducting research on how effectively we are communicating our message to voters.
