Aaron heads up Vital Healthcare Property Trust, the third largest NZX-listed property group and the largest listed owner of healthcare real estate in Australasia with investments in hospitals, residential aged care facilities and out-patient facilities across both countries. He has over 20 years’ experience in funds management, property, financial services, commercial law, property finance and M&A obtained in corporate roles and private legal practice in London, Melbourne, Adelaide and New Zealand. He has been in executive management roles since 2009 including Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) roles. He has also served on several boards; both profit and not-for-profit and currently serves on the board of hospice and aged-care provider Mercy Healthcare (Auckland), is a member of Auckland Urban Design Panel and is a member of the Aotearoa Health Sector Climate Change Scenarios Leadership Group.Aaron holds a masters degree in Applied Finance, bachelors degrees in Laws and Arts and graduate diplomas in Applied Finance, Applied Corporate Governance and Legal Practice. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (NZ), Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), Fellow of the Governance New Zealand and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. He was previously admitted as a solicitor in several Australian States and in New Zealand. Until 2019, Aaron was Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ASX listed Growthpoint Properties Australia with responsibility for the transaction structuring and execution, external and corporate affairs (comprising marketing, investor relations, reporting, sustainability and regulatory) company secretarial, legal, HR, insurance and compliance functions . While at Growthpoint, he helped lead the acquisition of over $2 billion of commercial real estate, the expansion/renewal of over $1.2 billion debt capital and raising over $1.4 billion in new equity.
