Every day is a new opportunity; to educate and become educated, to connect with people and to grow. The gravitational pull that entrepreneurship has on me led me to my current role as Head of Sales and Capital Introduction for the prime services business of BNY Mellon │ Pershing. After being here on Day One of our business, I’ve helped our team’s progression to where we are today: working directly with hedge funds and alternative asset managers across the U.S. to understand their strategies and financing needs and provide efficient solutions. Over the years, I’ve been in the fortuitous position to establish and grow relationships with managers, investors and other industry participants as their business needs have evolved. As a leader, my focus is on supporting my team through the development of strong processes, building great networks and encouraging continuous learning. I began my career as a Network Engineer, providing technology and infrastructure support to startup hedge funds, some of which are today’s top global hedge funds. My knowledge of technology helped me convert that experience into a role providing consulting to hedge funds on all aspects of the hedge fund startup process and business process efficiency which gave me the foundation to draw on when I joined Pershing in 2007 where I helped to launch our prime services business from the ground, up. I have been able to share some of the insights gleaned from my experience in the alternative investments industry through articles published in the media. One of my favorites touches on a major trend we’re seeing in the hedge fund space, which is the evolution of alternative strategies from a product geared toward institutional investors into a product more accessible to the masses. I’ve also spoken at industry conferences, including SALT, GAIM, Alpha Hedge, and Pershing’s flagship event, INSITE.
