The Johns Hopkins Medicine Learning Lab (JHMLL) is an institutional initiative sponsored by the executive leadership at the School of Medicine, as well as the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, the Department of Surgery, and the specialized Johns Hopkins Quality and Safety Research Group.JHMLL is a unique multidisciplinary program, whose goal is to broaden and strengthen linkages between Johns Hopkins Medicine's clinical scientists, laboratory investigators, and industry partners. The program has constructed a clinical research platform that will significantly improve the way its academic and industry members work together. Such a partnership provides our clinician-scientists with opportunities to engage in funded research opportunities while simultaneously supporting industry product evaluation.

Three guest lectures for a course taught by Dr. Daniel Teraguchi, assistant dean for student affairs at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, designed to engage Baltimore City high school students in the fields of health and medicine.I introduced various aspects of public health, and how they relate to medicine and healthcare, using engaging activities and experiments to pique student's interest in a hands-on way.

Conducted basic molecular biology research on lumican's role in regulating innate immunity. Created mutant constructs of lumican with truncated Leucine Rich Repeats to characterize lumican's role in regulating recognition of LPS by CD14. Anesthetized and harvested organs from mice in order to perform assays. I also performed basic laboratory upkeep procedures such as making buffers, sending and collecting glassware to be autoclaved, and making of gels.

Teaching assistant for a large (~200 student) multidisciplinary environmental health course that is a required course for Public Health students and an upper level elective course for Molecular Biology students at Johns Hopkins University.Responsible for answering student questions before, during, and after classes as well as through email or one-on-one tutoring. Graded exams and assignments. Created and presented review lectures before exams.

Director of Host Management and Recruitment for overnight open house programs for admitted students. Responsible for recruiting, matching, training, and coordinating undergraduate freshmen and sophomores to host high school students admitted to Johns Hopkins University, and ensuring all students followed set guidelines and rules while staying overnight.Secondary roles included setting up for special events and answering questions from prospective students and parents.
