About Aaron Hyde
A brewing and distilling industry professional, I'm a lover of all things brewing industry related, especially within the malting, beer brewing, and whiskey distilling industry.I started as an audio engineer, then moved to sports and finally brewing, opening Brewstock, a homebrew shop in New Orleans. After spending five successful years supporting a burgeoning homebrew and craft beer scene in Southern Louisiana, I sold the locally loved institution, which is still in operation today. The following year, I became a BJCP beer judge, and obtained Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) certifications in brewing, malting, and distilling, as well as becoming a Certified Cicerone.I joined Briess Malt & Ingredients Co. in 2014, returning to Wisconsin to become the Homebrew Division's first Product Line Manager. I left Briess in a dual role, rising to Director of Homebrew, but having moved back to New Orleans, I also managed craft brewing and distilling customers in the Gulf South as Division Manager-Brew South.From there, I moved halfway around the world to Auckland, New Zealand. As the International Sales Manager for Bevie (now owned by RahrBSG), I managed the global sales team and sales strategy. I rose to be an executive team member, leading product development and strategy for the business globally.I was promoted back to the US and am currently a commercial director at RahrBSG, one of the largest maltsters in the world. My focus is on a comprehensive portfolio of ingredients for wineries, distilleries, homebrew shops, cideries, and meaderies.
