Aaron J. Hall, Chief of the Probate Unit in the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, is officially running to be your next Macomb County Probate Court Judge. With a diverse legal background that includes work in our state’s highest courts—as well as in our local courts during his tenure as an Assistant Macomb County Prosecutor—Aaron's focus is on justice, fairness, and community service.Aaron has extensive experience in the Macomb County Probate Court, where he's advocated for the importance of personalized decision-making while recognizing the emotional aspects of difficult legal proceedings. As a cancer survivor, he brings resilience and determination to his candidacy. Aaron is committed to creating a stronger and safer future for Macomb County. Hall is also an Executive Council Member of the Young Lawyers Section (District 1 - Macomb & Wayne) for the State Bar of Michigan. As a council member, Aaron seeks to expand mentorship and networking opportunities for young attorneys. Locally, Aaron serves on the Board of Directors for the Macomb County Bar Association (MCBA). He is a member of the Macomb County Probate Bar Association. In 2022-2023, he was the Chair of the MCBA’s Young Lawyers Section. As an assistant prosecutor, Aaron has represented the People of the State of Michigan at the Michigan Supreme Court, the Michigan Court of Appeals, 16th Circuit Court, and every District Court in Macomb County. Aaron also serves as the Deputy Chief of Specialty Treatment Courts (Mental Health Court, Drug Court, Veterans' Court, and Sobriety Court). Prior to this role, he worked as a Judicial Research Attorney for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court, where he drafted over 325 judicial decisions and bench memoranda. Aaron also completed an externship for Justice David F. Viviano of the Michigan Supreme Court. Aaron is the Editor-In-Chief of the MCBA’s official publication, Bar Briefs, and serves as a Trustee of the Macomb County Bar Foundation. Aaron is a past recipient of the MCBA’s Most Active Young Lawyer Award. He also received the MCBA’s Extraordinary Service Award. Aaron is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
