Contributed to LiveAction’s growth from incubation to a Series B global tech company.* Technical Lead: Developed use cases and feature requirements as well as the architecture, design, implementation of the most critical portions of LiveAction products for 10+ years (incubated at Referentia).* Technical Lead: Lead the data processing, reporting, and visualization within the LiveNx product. Designed and developed a flexible, configurable, distributed system for processing large volume time series (hundreds of thousands of records a second per node) network data streaming and from disk. Built specific solutions for many network situational awareness problems. My solutions helped LiveAction be the first in the world to support major Cisco technologies such as Cisco’s Medianet, Mediatrace, AVC, PfRv3, and others. My solutions have also enabled our company to obtain patents for the visualization of network data.* Technical Lead: Lead the development of synthetic product; the test agent and data ingestion, query, analysis platform for active synthetic performance tests of networked resources.* Engineering Manager: Helped recruit, interview, and assist the Director of Engineering’s management of our local software team.

Contributed to two major efforts that went from research projects to venture backed startups.* Engineering Manager: Served as the direct engineering supervisor for 7+ engineering personnel; conducted performance reviews, assisting in resource allocation, assisting in developing programming standards, setting career goals and learning objectives, mentoring and guidance, and aligning engineering efforts with the company’s goals.* Engineering Manager: Led the software development process and tools standardization efforts. Introduced the company to and fostered high quality software development tools and solid software development process and practices – code reviews, SCRUM, unit testing, performance testing, continuous integration, and library management.* Technical Lead of LiveAction: A lead engineer on the LiveAction product which provides network time series data collection and analysis to increase performance and quality of service of mid to large networks. Very experienced in traffic monitoring and metrics collection. Lead large scale distributed data ingestion, storage, query, and analysis (this project became a Series-B global startup)* Technical Lead of IAHM: Served as technical lead on projects related to integrated aircraft health management. Helped create a generic (supports various aircraft platforms) large scale storage solution for massive amounts of time series aircraft sensor data and maintenance information. Worked with terabytes of data from F/A-18EF, C-17, B737, and other airline platforms. Technologies include Oracle, PostgreSQL, Java, REST, Matlab, HDF5, Java. (this project became a Series A startup and Tibbetts Award).

The Collaborative Software Development Laboratory* Developed an extension to the Hackystat System for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA that helped identify problems and inefficiencies in the build and development process for a large space mission software framework.* Developed an extension to the Hackystat System that identified that documents that are in least and most need of inspection based on historical software product and development process metrics.* Lead Software Manager for the CLEW system. Created and managed a six semester student-driven J2EE project that helped teach software engineering to over 25 students.
