Worked on multiple assembly lines building windows. I did everything from preparing the materials that would become the pieces of a window frame or sash, to bringing finished windows to the warehouse and loading them onto trucks, and everything in-between. I learned how to weld frames and sash together. I "corner cleaned" which is cutting off unwanted material from the frames and sash. I "built" frames and such which included putting other pieces like bars, locks, screws, etc. on the frames or sash. I "dropped" (inserted) the glass into frames and sash, and beaded the glass in place. I put finished sash onto the corresponding finished frame, and added any final pieces to the window to finish the assembly. I knew how to do all of these things on 3 different assembly lines that made different kinds of windows, with different equipment. I also knew how to disassemble and fix any windows that broke or had an issue.

Assembled and labeled boxes and containers for hand sanitizer because of the high demand during the Covid-19 pandemic. I helped with warehouse storage and organization. I designed and tested a more efficient way to label the bottles of hand sanitizer that increased the production of a pallet of bottles from 1hour 30 minutes to 1 hour by a single worker. This included how the production room was organized (work stations, empty pallets, unlabeled bottles, labels, etc.), who was responsible for certain tasks (like taking finished pallets out to the warehouse, etc.), and techniques for maximizing efficiency in tasks involving labeling (moving bottles, bottle placement, labeling itself, etc.).

I filled orders for parts to be shipped to the local production facility where they built generators. I volunteered to work some Fridays reorganizing the warehouse and making picking (filling orders) more efficient. This included completely shifting isles of materials and moving certain martials to different areas, all to make picking each individual part that much easier to access, put on a cart or forklift, and move on to the next item. I also had experience cutting pieces of martial to the appropriate and desired length for smaller generators at their 3rd Mankato facility. I sadly never got to work at their main facility assembling the larger generators before they could no longer hire high school apprentices because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
