Aaron Lai, CFA, is the Director of Data and Analytics, Manifest Medex, a California Health Information Exchange (HIE) and a Senior Fellow of Purdue University’s Krenicki Center for Business Analytics & Machine Learning. Previously he was the Senior Manager, Technology Consulting of Payer Analytics, PwC Advisory Services. He has a wide range of analytics experience from Castlight Health, Blue Shield of CA, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, and Wells Fargo Bank. In addition to dozens of publications in academic journals, professional magazines, and technical books in consumer analytics and risk management, he has also presented in international conferences and received patents. His academic training includes two B.Sc. in Finance/Economics (CityU HK and London), a MBA (Purdue), and two M.Sc. (Sociology and Evidence-based Healthcare from Oxford). His technical expertise include regression analysis, propensity score matching, ML/NLP, SAS/R/Python/SQL programming, and ETL/datamart implementation as he has extensive experience in managing technical teams. His volunteer service includes being a CFA Magazine Advisory committee member, reviewer for several journals, and an advisor to Purdue’s Krenicki Center.
