I am an educational consultant supporting schools and organizations to reach all kids with inclusive, strengths-based practices. I coach teachers and others to teach and support autistic students and all kids with a variety of academic, executive functioning, and social support needs. Through the lens of Universal Design for learning, I work with educators to consider the "kid in context," examining the environment, demands, and expectations as the starting point for helping students be successful. I specialize in helping teachers use clear and purposeful visual supports, focused graphic organizers, clarity and structure in instruction based on principles of learning and memory, and a range of executive functioning supports and other scaffolds. As a proud member of Carol Gray’s Team Social Stories, I provide Social Stories workshop and collaborate with Carol and the team to continually update and refine the Social Stories philosophy and approach. Committed to centering disabled perspectives, I'm grateful for what I have and continue to learn from and alongside my students with disabilities and my autistic collaborators and colleagues.

Supporting educator and speech therapist team planning and facilitation of Subway Sleuths strengths-based after school program for students with autism

I developed PINE's Executive Functioning online course for educators and created their video micro-course, "Visual Routines for Special Area Teachers"

Developed and taught "Teaching Students with Disabilities in General Education," "Principles and Practices for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities," and "Educating Students with Disabilities in Middle Childhood and Adolescent Settings"

Lead development of the Path Program, a pilot inclusion program for students with emotional needs in NYCDOE public schools

Led team of staff developers and consultants in the model development, training, and ongoing support of educators working in the NYC Public School's Autism Nest program, the nation's largest public school inclusion program for autistic studentsPreviously Director of Professional Development, coordinating pre- and in-service training and professional development, leading workshops and on-site consultation in Nest schools

Co-planned and co-led Subway Sleuths, an after school program for students with autism to learn and connect through their interest in trains and transit

Taught 5th grade in inclusive classroom specially designed for students with autism spectrum disorders. Collaborated with co-teacher to plan and deliver instruction in all content areas. Co-planned weekly social development sessions with speech-language therapist.
