Lead and Supervised National Programs. Provided oversight and leadership in all programmatic functions of the organization including professional development in diverse by design school models, best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion, foreign language instruction, curriculum development, assessment and talent pipeline development. Areas of focus: coaching school leadership in distributed leadership, developing instructional leadership capacity, staff and student retention, data analysis, practices and structures that support diversity, equity and inclusion. Built and Sustained a National School Network. Supported the development of new charter schools in New York City, San Diego, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Minneapolis. Worked with authorizers and state charter support organizations, local elected officials, district school boards, parents and community leaders; developed initial and renewal charter applications for authorizers; developed multiyear school budgets. Participated in the hiring of Heads of Schools and preparations for charter renewals.Leadership Development and Network Formation. Oversaw planning and development of new charter school sites. Established relationships with authorizers, charter school support organizations and local community leaders in locations across the country. Directed the charter school application process, coached board chairs and Heads of Schools in diverse by design school model, diversity equity and inclusion, community engagement, authorizer relations, networking, strategic planning, data analysis, staff and student recruitment and retention as well as accountability systems design. Created and implemented network activities, such as conferences, webinars, and retreats for school leaders. Development of Data Analysis Systems: Guided Data Scientist in analysis of school and network data that capture value-added student progress as well as disaggregated data for historically underserved students.
