During my transition into high school, I started to develop a passion for Human Resources, Forensic Science, and Social Justice for Black Individuals.I proposed the idea of A Black Student Union which would serve to educate on the trauma of marginalized, black communities, promote black excellence, and inspire the elevation of black culture. I had a vision to create a safe space where black students and allies could come together to reform black culture at South Broward High School (SBHS) forever. It is truly beautiful to see how many black students from 9th-12th grade come together to make change at SBHS forever. Whether we were organizing our school's Black culture awareness week, calling registered voters as NAACP representatives, or reaching out to organizations like the African American Youth Advisory Board of Broward County, we continuously strived to make new connections and push the need to make a change, despite COVID precautions.Through this organization, I hope to encourage younger Black students to continuously chase their passions and dreams as I take on mine; Double majoring in Human Organizational Development with a concentration in Leadership Effectiveness and Anthropology with a concentration in Forensics.
