In my own company, I specialize in threat, hazard, risk assessments, crisis and consequence mitigation, including notable projects working for Response Systems International (full-scale exercise design and execution for pre-hospital operations) and Asfalis Advisors (business continuity program management for a large-scale $795M+ healthcare organization). I originated the business after repeatedly determining a gap in the quality of consultants driving compliance focused approaches to crisis management utilizing boilerplate and bare minimum templates. Notably, I introduced and changed the paradigm to move away from compliance or governance focused crisis management and back to a capability and capacity focused approach. I also transformed into a “Board Whisperer,” translating government doctrine policy and guidance into action, working with C- Suites, Boards and leadership, aligning government requests into specific business contexts, and fitting a managed care or health care provider’s world.

I served as a lead subject matter expert for training and exercise, risk and threat-based services including insider threat, anti-terrorism, and UAS, business continuity, and crisis and incident management. I establish mechanisms to proactively monitor impacts to operations, establishing and executing policy and procedures, and C-Suite engagement and governance. I manage $25M+ contracts with the TSA, 15+ personnel, and serve as a SME for large-scale highly technical crisis and consequence management research, analysis, and innovative programs. In addition, I influence and impact with strategic planning, policy, and procedure development in crisis management and business continuity, creating novel tests, trainings, and exercises leveraging advanced methodologies, including gamification and advanced simulation, as well as end-to-end program management. I also provide professional services including security analysis, performance solutions, and information technology services to government agencies. I function as a subject matter expert and technologist for large-scale incident and crisis management, training and exercise, and policy development and implementation initiatives; including leading large-scale technology implementation projects in support of incident and crisis response, analyzing policy, and end-to-end project and change management. In more specifics, I analyzed requirements, technologies, and capabilities, seemingly unrelated, yet finding the constellation. I led the company integration in regard to market trending and establishing capability development as well as needed skills and capacity for the future. I also supported strategic business development as the technical expert, meeting with clients for actionable planning, strategy, and problem solving. Finally, I tripled the size of the company during this time, leading the capture of a $12M and $25M award of Federal contracts.
