Job One provides employment and employment related services to more than 400 people with disabilities and other barriers to employment each year. Since the merger in 2011 that formed Job One, I have been proud to provide strategic leadership and vision to this amazing organization. Job One is on the cutting edge of employment services in the metro area, region and state. Our programs are constantly evolving to meet the needs of people hungry for opportunity and choices in employment. With an outstanding team of staff and board members, Job One is poised for future growth an innovation in the areas of employment training, integrated employment, and advocacy.

Provided the confidence, energy and talent to lead the turnaround of a struggling agency. Successfully reorganized and refocused agency staffing, leading to an improved culture that embraced employee achievement, entrepreneurial thinking and best practices in nonprofit management. Established FWI Community Recycling, providing the residents of Grandview and South Kansas City with the only comprehensive 24-7 recycling center in the area. Recycling program created a number of desirable jobs for Foundation Workshop employees and had a tremendous impact on community relations. Improved financial condition and program growth positioned the agency as a leader in Jackson County. This resulted in a merger with IBS Industries, creating JobOne.

Collaborated with Executive Director in all aspects of leading a well respected provider of residential services for people with developmental disabilities. Guided a diverse team of managers and direct support professionals to improved organizational performance in activities critical to licensure such as person centered planning, health and safety and documentation. Created quality focused policies and procedures contributing to achievement of multiple three-year CARF accreditations. Consistently advocated for individuals to reside in least restrictive environment, leading to numerous resident transitions from group settings to independent living.

Developed strong management, budget and finance and human resources skills while leading a team of staff members in the operation of a cutting edge therapy group home for adults with Asperger syndrome and autism. Enthusiastic and engaged leadership of this team resulted in positive outcomes for residents including increased community integration, fewer behavioral incidents and improved health.

Provided direct support and companionship for children and adults with significant disabilities. Developed core values of compassion and dignified care for vulnerable people through delivering the most basic of daily living services.
