After successfully completing the chartered accountant (ACA) qualification with Kingston Smith, I went on to become and Assistant manager with a portfolio of around 40 clients ranging in size and nature. I started my career at Kingston Smith as a trainee in 2011 and completed the Chartered accountancy qualification with first time passes in 2014. During my time as trainee I worked on a wide range of clients and projects from preparing the accounts of small owner managed businesses to the audit of larger subsidiaries of international groups. Main responsibilities included: - Complete statutory audit of UK companies from planning, fieldwork and completion stage - Managing a team of up to 4 to efficiently and effectively complete audit work - Preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP - Preparing corporation tax computations - Preparing self assessment tax computations - Preparing VAT returns - Assisting with business advice and drafting reports

Towards the end of my 3 year training contract with Kingston Smith I was given the opportunity to work in Australia for 4 months.This gave me a wider range of experience both in technical audit skills and personal skills by adapting to a different culture and leadership styles. Most of my work was in the audit of local councils in the NSW region of Australia under IFRS as well as some commercial clients.
