CrowdLab provide a range of applications on mobile and web for Market Researchers to gather data from media-rich surveys. We also provide tools for researchers to design their surveys and view the data they collect.My role as Lead Web Engineer involves a few different areas of responsibility:* Building and maintaining applications that consume our internal Business API.* Building and maintaining libraries for reusing code across the platform.* Code and Design Review.* Mentoring the team on areas such as architecture, design patterns and refactoring.* Introducing and maintaining best practice processes (agile, UX, TDD, code review, continuous deployment).Our stack was originally a Ruby on Rails back end with Backbone.js front end. I wrote and implemented a cost-effective React transition plan. I eventually replaced and extended a large part of our platform with React and Redux.That approach worked well for a while, but we eventually realised that GraphQL was a much better fit for us.
