I'm currently the Head of Defence Oceania for Blue Water Shipping, helping to drive the Defence strategy for the organisation. Previously I was a Senior Defence Industry Consultant in the NT for Arican, working with SMEs and Prime's helping bridge the gap with Defence work in the NT and introduce businesses into the Defence supply chain and opportunities in the North. Prior to that I was a Defence Industry Advisor with the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS) helping SMEs enter and navigate the Defence Industry. This followed a diverse career operating a consulting agency in Darwin, leading nursing teams with Aspen Medical during COVID 19 and, prior to that, 8yrs as an Engineer Officer in the Army. My eight years in Defence included working with the 1st Brigade Headquarters helping Units develop innovations and fit for purpose facilities at Robertson Barracks. After moving out of full time service and having completed his double Masters, I started his own small business consultancy firm, working with the NT Government as an approved consultant to deliver grants, business and marketing services to over 70 businesses in the NT and around Australia. My business and consulting agency, SLiM DIGITAL, started from a desire to help businesses do better. I worked with clients such as Miguel Maestre, Deakin University, Little Miss Korea, Menzies, NTPHN, Tourism Top End, Absolute Real Estate, Raine & Horne, Stockdale and Leggo and Power Water Corporation. I’ve helped these SMEs improve their organisational strategies and processes and their marketing and communications plans. My intimate knowledge of the NT SME landscape and the NT grant system allowed me to support NT SMBs in a unique and powerful way. As the Regional Manager for Aspen Medical in the NT, I managed the Commonwealth’s response to COVID-19 in the NT. In this role I managed teams in the NT to establish respiratory clinics in the initial response to the pandemic. I then assisted in the management of teams in contract tracing to assist the outbreak in Victoria. My final role was leading vaccination teams to vulnerable communities and groups throughout the NT. This was a highly rewarding role that provided me with a greater appreciation for the health challenges in the NT and the community landscape in regional and remote areas. These experiences combined with an MBA & MCLW from Deakin Uni & LLB/LP & BEc from Flinders Uni, mean I’m is exceptionally well qualified to assist businesses in developing their offerings in the Defence Industry supply chain.
