Supporting corporate networks is a two part job. There is the day to day management, monitoring and deployment of technology to work on, and there is making sure your users are efficient, proficient and understand how to use the tools they are given. Both roles are paramount to success as a IT manager. My goal as a professional is to make sure i continue to build my technical skills more and more each day, as well as to build my relationship skills with end users in my enterprise. I try to remember that its the people in your company that make the job of network administrator important, not just the technology you maintain.Specialties: Management, purchasing, network architecture, network security & risk assessment.

When taking over the job as IT administrator at OSAC, my first priority was to overhaul the NT4 network and get it up to current standards. Over the last year and a half I have moved the network from that NT4 standard to a current 2008 Windows infrastructure, virtualized all of the servers and half of the workstations & brought the network back to a secure state. It has been my primary work during my time at OSAC to ensure network security, keep the network up to date with current technologies and ensure that the agency is compliant with all state IT regulations and standards. In the last 2 years I have been able to cut IT costs in half by leveraging new technologies & effectively managing projects. I continue to move the IT infrastructure forward during a constrained budget cycle.
I am the network administrator, network architect & security officer at IntoCareers (a branch of the department of education at the university of Oregon).
My primary responsibility was to act as the senior account manager for 8 of our largest corporate clients. The company [K&R] managed their IT infrastructures, maintained their network security and ensured their industry specific compliance. It was my job to act as the primary technical contact for these clients, to manage junior technicians, to meet with the management teams of the clients and to oversee their IT infrastructures. Each client had a robust network and varied greatly in the technologies they employed. By effectively managing our largest clients i was able to maximize company profits while limiting wasted man hours and company resources.
