I didnโt have enough capital going in and was reliant on external investment. I got distracted by opportunities for short-term gains which pulled me away from the real mission. I ruined my dream and almost lost my investors everything. I lost years of my life, all my savings, friends, and nearly lost my family. And I deserved all of that.While an eventual settlement enabled my investors to walk away with about 82% of the capital they put in, they still saw a negative return and received no financial compensation for their investment of time. I wish I could say I learned my lessons immediately, but it took another 5 years before figuring out I was the problem. Hoping to someday try this again with an outward mindset and better preparation.
