I took part in the AWS re:Start programme, run in conjunction with Generation UK and The Prince's Trust. AWS re:Start was designed to address the growing cloud skills gap and to provide transformative opportunities for 1000+ unemployed young people across the UK to break into the tech sector.Also known as the 'Get Into Tech Programme', The 12-week course, blends theory and practical work with soft skills and employability development to prepare learners to start a career in cloud computing. Participants complete technical training and work towards the industry-recognised AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.Generation's two-fold mission is to empower young people to build thriving, sustainable careers and to provide employers the highly-skilled, motivated talent they need. With a skills-training methodology that serves hundreds of thousands of unemployed and underemployed young people. The training creates real business value for employers, and lasting career impact for participants—so everyone has the incentive to invest in skills.The Prince's Trust believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. So, they help 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives.
