Used the structure to identify protein-protein inhibitors of the SIX1/EYA complex through virtual screening and confirmed target engagement using ELISA, AlphaScreen and SPR. I also identified potential biomarkers using bioinformatics and qPCR to measure tumor response to SIX1/EYA inhibitors and helped develop tools to identify ovarian cancer patient populations that would respond to anti-SIX1/EYA therapeutics. -

Work helped validate the SIX1/EYA transcriptional complex as a molecular target for cancer therapeutics and developed SIX1 and EYA protein purification protocols that would be used in future X-ray crystallography studies. I also characterized mutations in SIX1 that occur in the developmental disorder Branchio-oto-renal (BOR) syndrome.
