As part of my course of study in Singapore Polytechnic, I was given the opportunity to work with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to plan and manage an event, which aims to bring Singaporeans together to enjoy the vibrant streets and spaces, and to spread awareness of the benefits of reducing the number of cars on the roads. Car-Free Weekend: Blast From the Past was an event that my team and I undertook in the span of 6 months. Together with my team, we managed to transform Amoy Street and Telok Ayer Street with musical performances, as well as old-school traditional games.The event attracted about 1,000 attendees comprising families, youth and children, enjoying themselves throughout the evening.
