I've done a lot in the Cybersecurity field. in many different aspects. Starting with the 8 years in the IC. Where I engaged in cyber operations. I also was adjunct instructor qualified for 3 courses for soldiers and civilians. During my time as a special security officer I was responsible for presenting information to large groups of people multiple times a week and ensuring security practices were followed at all times. This is where I also got started instructing and certifying other's qualifications for their roles. After graduating the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) in the top 10% of students I joined the Cyber Protection Brigade where I lead threat hunting operations and Incident response operations on DoD networks here and overseas with a specialization in ICS/OT systems. Later I was selected to develop and secure infrastructure as part of the Army's first "analytic support cell" and eventually became a master trainer/certifier for soldiers responsible for deploying the Defensive Cyber Operations Platform. That included things like making technical documentation and training plans, presenting to leadership for executive buy in, and presenting technical information to my peers.While getting my degree in Cybersecurity and Information assurance from Western Governor's University, I seperated from the military and joined the private sector as a consultant for Application control, Endpoint detection and response, and next gen firewalls.Becoming a solutions architect let me combine my wide range of experience and my academic background with the ability to deliver technical content to non technical audiences very well. I was able to hone my presentation skills with leading Proofs of Concepts, delivering custom demos, and custom workshops. That time also ignited my second passion, automation.My dream is to use as much of what I've done and learned to help others make their data more secure, and understand why they are doing it. I enjoy teaching, I love showing people cyber security doesn't have to be overwhelming, and I have a special place in my heart for securing the most critical infrastructure, our hard working PLCs and HMI's and their friends.
