As a Software Developer, I value creating and maintaining systems that have a profound impact on its users. I thrive in an environment where design and development occur with collaboration and new, creative solutions are discovered through the collective skills of every team member. By communicating with one another we teach and are taught, ultimately allowing everyone to grow their coding and critical thinking skills and to deliver high quality products. Independent work is necessary, but from my experience is frequently enhanced through collaboration.In addition, I value the ability to contribute to many facets of a projects and utilize Agile methodologies whenever possible. I am always seeking to garner new skills and develop existing ones. I enjoy taking initiative on exciting and innovative projects and am quick to pick up new technologies. I adapt quickly to new situations and find it easy to find a place in groups. In teams, I tend to take leadership roles and work as a strong mediator to facilitate design, organize development, manage disputes, and timely deliver quality products that we can all be proud of. When presented with a difficult problem I endeavour to learn and find a solution but remain a fair judge of my skills and will seek assistance when necessary. I always strive to make clean and efficient code, valuing the idea that "less is often more". In my current position, I am enjoying working on a graphics engine and am bolstering my skills building cross-platform SDKs for desktop, mobile, and 10-foot devices.
