Carmel Country Club General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Aaron Dawson possesses more than a quarter of a century of exemplary leadership experience in the hospitality, private club management and restaurant industries. Prior to joining the team at Carmel in July 2022, Dawson served as the General Manager of Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas, overseeing a team of more than 160 dedicated professionals. Under Dawson’s leadership, Miramont was consistently rated among the top 10 golf courses in Texas and was ranked by Club + Resort Business magazine as the sixth-best clubhouse in the country and the best in Texas.Dawson served as the General Manager at Miramont from 2014 to 2022, a time period in which the club experienced an unprecedented amount of growth in new members. At Miramont, Dawson became renowned for his friendly approach, as well as his emphasis on an old-fashioned commitment to delivering impeccable service. His hands-on and energetic leadership style also attracted many younger members to Miramont, which features a 93,000 square-foot clubhouse and a 22-hole Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed championship golf course, Dawson arrived at Miramont after serving as the GM of Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas. In that role, he guided the operations of the club, including a large food and beverage department, two 18-hole golf courses, tennis and fitness centers and more than 700 members. During Dawson’s tenure at Chenal, the club played host to several major golf tournaments, including the 106th Southern Amateur Championship, one of the top amateur golf events in the United States. Dawson began his career in the club industry in 2005, serving as General Manager for Bentwater Yacht & Country Club in Conroe, Texas, a property with three golf courses, three clubhouses, a fitness center and day spa, marina and villas. Dawson’s decorated career in the hospitality business began when he worked for the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants in the Columbus, Ohio area. He later joined Morton’s Steakhouse as a manager and eventually became GM for the Brio/Bravo Restaurant Group.Dawson is committed to professional development and dedicated to civic endeavors. He is a certified Birkman Personality Assessment consultant. During his time at Miramont, he served as President of the CMAA Texas Chapter and was on the Board of Trustees of Allen Academy (private school in Bryan).Dawson and his wife, Nikki have two daughters: Olivia, who was born in 2005, and Madeline (2009).
