Associate Attorney
As an associate in the firm’s White Collar and Government Investigations practice, I have assisted representations in civil and criminal matters - including anti-trust allegations and matters of local government law. For pro bono matters, I currently assist non-citizens in the asylum seeking process.
Student Attorney, Immigrant Rights Clinic
The Immigrant Rights Clinic at the Washington and Lee University School of Law enlists student attorneys as the primary legal representatives for non-citizen clients in immigration matters. Student attorneys currently provide legal services to persons in removal proceedings, both detained and non-detained, and with a particular focus on vulnerable populations such as refugees, unaccompanied minors, and victims of domestic violence. While working with a partner, I worked three cases throughout my time in the clinic. I assisted clients in filing various forms with USCIS, including applications for employment authorization and applications to adjust status. I prepared clients for affirmative asylum interviews, conducted extensive legal research and drafted legal arguments while staying up-to-date on ever-changing immigration laws and policies. I assisted clients through a change in administration, resulting in significant changes to their case handling. In addition to the Immigrant Rights Clinic, I participated in a Crimmigration Law seminar to further gain knowledge on areas that affect non-citizens, particularly the intersection of the immigration and criminal justice systems. In doing so, I authored an original research paper focusing on bias towards the LGBTQ+ community and its role in igniting over-policing of communities into removal proceedings, creating and shaping the current crimmigration regime.
Research Assistant
As a research assistant for Associate Dean David Baluarte, I assisted in research, analysis, and production for publishings relating to immigrants' rights. Topics of research included statutory analysis, cancellation of removal, human rights concerns, and intersectionality of international human rights law and federal law.As a research assistant for Professor Carliss Chatman, I assisted in research and drafting for various publishings. Topics of research included legal personhood, legal ethics, corporate governance, and the role of attorney whistleblowers.
Summer Engagement
Although Troutman Pepper cancelled it's 2020 Summer Associate Program due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it created the Troutman Pepper Summer Engagement Series -- a series of virtual meetings in which I was introduced to current members of the Troutman Pepper community, with whom I discussed practice groups, firm opportunities, and engaged with other future associates.

Annual Funds Caller
By contacting alumni of the university I am able to make sure all records are up to date and invite them to university events as well as updating them with general information and changes happening at the university. I also contact parents and prospective students to answer any questions and provide updates as well as guidance with the application process. By gaining monetary contributions to the university we are able to provide more scholarships to students to ease financial burden and foster academic achievement. After one semester I was promoted to a caller guide and am now able to assist in training of new employees and help with any issues that may arise on spot during calls.
