• Coordinated with U.S. Border Patrol Law Enforcement Operational Directorate (LEOD) staff in all nine southwestern border sectors as well as counterparts in Mexico to provide training, information, and support for anti-drug smuggling, anti-human trafficking, and other activities across the entire U.S./Mexico border region• Served regularly as Acting Associate Chief for the division, with responsibility for oversight of 15 employees, including those deployed overseas, as well as all daily operations for all nine southwest patrol sectors • Prepared briefings for the agency’s commissioner and secretary to deliver to senior executive branch officials up to the White House level on sector activities between U.S. Foreign Operation Branches and Mexican Counterparts • Coordinated personnel support with the Mexican government for the agency’s joint security and mentorship programs, providing Mexican airport and immigration personnel with training from the USBP on interview techniques and review of immigration documents to better address a surge of migrants at key airports• Oversaw the “Se Busca Initiative,” in which each border patrol sector works with Mexican counterparts to identify and share most wanted individuals involved in illicit cross-border activity, resulting in apprehension of multiple high-profile targets in both countries

• Provided comprehensive logistical support and guidance to more than USBP agents in a region spanning from Texas to Arizona, with responsibility for coordinating with regional task forces and ensuring all personnel, technology, and infrastructure needs were met to achieve specific goals• Coordinated with El Paso Sector to obtain funding for transportation, overtime, increased food and cleaning costs, and shower trailers in support of efforts to respond to significant influx of families across the border • Briefed members of Congress on questions and issues relating to Border Patrol personnel, policies, and administrative issues, and coordinated with sectors across the Central Corridor during budget planning to ensure all budgets were within allocations and spending guidelines• Represented American interests on a U.S./Mexico technical working group that met weekly to coordinate ongoing efforts to mitigate the migration surge in the border region, including progress of joint mirrored patrols, expulsion flight schedules, and repatriation of individuals back to Mexico

• Provided primary support to six USBP sectors and more than 50 agents in leadership roles across the Southern California and Arizona border region, reporting daily to LEOD and executive-level leadership on significant incidents and coordinating with sector leadership to ensure all resource needs were met to achieve goals• Supported enforcement operations targeting areas of increased drug or human trafficking activity by providing funding for required overtime and additional personnel, coordinating with state and local agencies on personnel and equipment, and providing intelligence support from USBP headquarters

• Supported the New Mexico West Texas Alliance to Combat Transnational Threats (ACTT) by ensuring operations section produced and executed integrated, coordinated, and synchronized operations plans affecting law enforcement activities across the region• Worked with state, local, and other federal agencies on a daily basis, with responsibility for leading pre-operational meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives from other agencies and El Paso sector staff• Fostered a “whole government” approach to combat illicit activity in the region by convincing more than 30 law enforcement agencies to join a new coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies during a period of strong hesitation on the part of many agencies, significantly improving enforcement across the region

• Oversaw more than 20 shift commanders and supervisors in a variety of specialty programs, including intelligence, prosecutions, sensors, and ACTT operations, serving as liaison between the USBP and other law enforcement agencies • Continuously involved in all aspects of the intelligence cycle, with responsibility for oversight of information collection from field intelligence agents and review and approval of the dissemination of information gathered

• Supervised more than 30 supervisors and agents in all aspects of daily operations, including scheduling and assignments, procuring necessary equipment, and ensuring all personnel completed required training• Deployed assets to key border checkpoint within the station’s area of operation and to periphery egress routes allowing for the circumvention of the checkpoint, ensuring adequate secondary line of defense behind primary stations in the immediate border area
