Accountable for overseeing and controlling the banking operation in the following countries: Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama. 2.9 M clients and 528 branches (2015). In charge of the exit strategy of the Brazilian operation. Reported to the Latin America General Director Achievements: Designed and set up the central area for the region, aligning operational processes with the infrastructure and business rules set for the different business units. Stabilized the operation, containing de impairment of the loan portfolio, increasing the normality from 65% in week 24 to 71% at the end of the year 2015 (the past due loan ratio decreased in 3 pp). Boosted an increase in the loans originated per advisor of 29% during the last Q of 15 vs the same figure of 2014, improving productivity in parallel with better quality of the loan portfolio. Achieved higher operational efficiency based on expense control, better mix and funding cost, as well as, the shutdown of non-profitable products, this in turn contained the sharp decline trend in net profit and we managed to reach a marginal increase in net profit at year-end.

Bicultural school with 1100 students, 248 employees and over MXN $150M annual turnover (2014)In charge of the finance, accounting, administration, budgeting, HR and operations functions. Legal representative and responsible for institutional relationships with Government agencies. Reported to the Board & the CEO.Achievements: Managed to turn around a net loss of MXN $2.7 M in 2009 into a net surplus of MXN $4.5 M in 2011, through a strict expense control mechanism and a more efficient collections process. During 2012-2014 accumulated investments rose to MXN $28.6 M, equivalent to 2.5 times the same figure of the 3 prev. yrs.  Recovered the “charity” register before the tax authorities, maintaining the status as noncontributory organization, in spite of the 2013 tax reform.  Actively participated in the School’s certification as accredited member of COBIS “Council of British International Schools”, becoming the 1st institution in Mexico and the 2nd in Latin America to accomplish such standard (2014). Obtained the “Green School” award from Semarnat in 2013.

In charge of the following areas: origination, collection, information, administration, HR and legal. Accountable for the loan portfolio administration. Reported to the CEO.Achievements: Improved the origination process, leading to an increase in the loan portfolio of 16% between June 2009- June 2010, in turn the net rejection rate in control desk diminished from 5.1 to 4.3%. From Fitch we got the rate AAFC3 as a primary financial assets administrator.  Streamlined collection processes, allowing to implement a structured funding mechanism through a trust, which in turn facilitated funding diversification.

Responsible of regulation, economic and competition analysis for Latin America. Reported to the Group’s regional CFO.Achievements: From its initial inception until its implementation, launched a servicing company to facilitate all group’s intra-company transactions across the LAM region, accomplished a decrease in administrative and tax burdens of 20%.

In charge of Institutional investors relationship and public disclosure (attending requirements from rating agencies, the Mexican Stock Exchange, Group Headquarters and authorities), as well as, budgeting and expense control.Achievements:  Achieved a +10% reduction in administrative and promotion expenses in 2008.

In charge of the business plan and setting up a new financial intermediary focused on the delivery of financial services to the low-income segments.

Accountable for strategic planning and new product development, as well as, technical assistance and institutionalization programs of the Federal Government and commercial Alliance that served close to 400 savings and loans institutions, 12 federations and one confederation, to bring these institutions into the formal regulatory framework and enhance their modernization.Achievements: Negotiated and had full executive accountability for technical assistance, impact studies and training programs funded with US$ 35 M World Bank loans and US$ 4 M granted by the IDB. These funds were applied in hiring national and international firms to support the formalization process of this sector.  Responsible of developing regulations and lobbying with Congress and Federal/State authorities for the approval of relevant laws and funds to facilitate the exit process of non-viable institutions.
