I've employed as many as 12 designers and developers to help me build projects like a 3D configurator using WebGL/React/Node (EnchantedDiamonds.com), an RFID-enabled platform for brick & mortar shopping using React/Node/Postgres (GetClark.io), an adventure booking system using React/Node/MongoDB (True.ink), a wholesale & retail eCommerce site using a fork of Spree Commerce and NextJS. We also helped relaunch BabyPhat.com. In addition to managing clients & operations, I am the lead software architect & engineer, and lead designer.Since forming in 2017, projects have included a WebGL jewelry configurator for EnchantedDiamonds.com, a booking system for crowdsourced experiences for True.Ink, a social media statistics dashboard KittenAgency.com, a RFID-enabled mobile shopping cart and real-time analytics dashboard for GetClark.io, relaunching BabyPhat.com, an online store for FlyeLyfe.com, marketing campaigns & UI/UX redesign for Grand.co, and a slew of other great clients & projects.We use technologies like Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, ReactJS & React Native, NextJS, Expo, WebGL, D3, Impinj RFID hardware & ItemSense API, RShell, Ubuntu, Spree, Shopify / Slate, Stripe, WordPress, MySQL, Postgres and MongoDB.We're also working on some internal products using technologies like ThreeJS, MistralAI, TorToiSe, PyTorch, Flask, Processing, Renode, ZephyrOS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

I worked on a multitude of backend & frontend applications using technologies like Java & Micronaut, React (Native) & JavaScript, Kubernetes, GCP, and MySQL. An internal dashboard, onboarding APIs, and our customer dashboard.I also finished developing and launched an old buggy incomplete React Native app, adding an Android build, app settings API, new product screens, claims filing, and PassKit integration for adding insurance cards to Apple & Google wallets, and new Kotlin APIs enabling app features.

I work on a small cross-org team developing custom software & hardware solutions for Carvana’s vertically integrated vehicle retail platform. So far this has included things like a massive image processing pipeline for 3PP distribution, an experiential media-driven on-site activation with ThreeJS and multi-massive displays, experimental marketing websites, logistics driver rewards technology, and homepage UX enhancements.

I spent the past year as CTO/Co-Founder & lead developer building a new retail tech business bridging the online and offline worlds through an RFID/NFC/QR enabled mobile shopping cart / wishlist for brick & mortar retail, along with a realtime data dashboard for brands to gather insight into consumer interests & patterns, product department/location performance, and sales. Dirty Lemon is the first company to handle 100% of their sales via SMS (text-to-buy) conversations, and were doing about $15K per day in sales.I inherited a broken and failing system. It's a very large single Ruby on Rails codebase aka "monorepo", there were many bugs, and it was still missing critical features (ie sales tax, order routing, etc).Over 8 months I was able to singlehandedly fix mission-critical business-level bugs and add crucial new features like calculate taxes, intelligently distribute orders to multiple fulfillment centers using a time-in-transit (SOAP) API, validate user signup forms & addresses, hookup a CRM for lead generation/re-marketing, track user events, enhance the clarity/personality/capabilities of their chatbot (using some NLP), create the ability for special products & promotions within their dashboard, setup better errors, enhance the design & UX, fix and prevent outages during sales rallies (and Christmas Day) and more.I was also the only technical role working for Dirty Lemon during this time, so I also managed all underlying infrastructure, services, and APIs.

I was responsible for the creation and support of all Galore's digital products and websites.I designed, developed, and maintained several digital products and their underlying infrastructure, including Galore's social-influencer agency & mgmt system [http://KittenAgency.com], our mobile-first original video browser/player web app [http://TV.GaloreMag.com], our online editorial publishing system [https://GaloreMag.com], and all Galore's digital newsletter campaigns and some specialty micro-sites. I balance my time equally between code, devops/sysadmin, design & UX, strategy, and management.The most common software stack I used for Galore's properties uses NodeJS, React, MongoDB, LESS, Docker, Github, and AWS.Some of our web properties I built using MeteorJS, WordPress/LAMP, Ghost.org, and even a custom NodeJS webapp using the WP-API. All of Galore's software stacks are described in full detail on https://StackShare.io.Galore has an audience of over 60MM followers across its networks, publishing hundreds of new written, video, and social content pieces each week.During issue launches or large press events, our sites often garner major media attention and occasionally receive over 100,000 unique visitors to one of our properties in one day. There were around a dozen times where I had to personally mitigate DoS (denial of service) attacks and keep the site online, often during major press events or infrastructure performance/availability issues, using a variety of tools like Awk scripts & iptables.We've had armies of foreign IP addresses requesting static resources thousands of times per second, freezing/locking our servers until I was able to SSH in and manually manage our IP tables and firewalls to blacklist the attackers' range of IP addresses. I've also setup and managed auto-scaling groups of resources responding to usage limits and traffic volume.

The Lucera cloud & private global fiber connections are all managed through an intuitive responsive web platform.Lucera is also the creator of the world's first distributed financial exchange platform, LumeFX. This technology is not unlike blockchain technology, but with infrastructure and participants which are managed by a private operator (ie our clients). LumeFX follows a PaaS (Platform-as-a-service) model, in that we give each client their own dedicated private financial exchange platform distributed across any number of servers/participants, along with their own exchange management dashboard. LumeFX also includes an adaptive & intelligent matching engine, using machine learning increases likelihood of successful buyer/seller matching as usage increases.I was responsible for all brand marketing & communication, the development of 3 mission-critical web apps, as well as the hiring and management of the front-end software team.I created our corporate brand identity & all sales/marketing collateral, represented the brand at conferences like STAC & HPC, aided with media training of our leadership, and developed our entire digital strategy and marketing plan.I also designed & built 3 major customer-facing NodeJS web applications, including our sales & onboarding website as well as the beta & alpha releases of our cloud provisioning portal (think AWS for HPC). I also helped manage all underlying (custom) infrastructure running on both Linux & SmartOS/Solaris.Lucera was born out of the R&D dept of Cantor Fitzgerald, thanks to Jacob Loveless & Peter Durkin.

Melee Media is an experiential advertising agency in NY, conducting wildly unconventional campaigns for brands like Panasonic, Steve Madden, Shutterstock, Tablet, and LCD Soundsystem.I designed and built much of the creative technology surrounding some of Melee's biggest projects. I built a location-aware concert finder for Steve Madden CMJ music showcase, allowing fans to scan QR codes around NYC and get directions to local music venues with shows sponsored by Steve Madden. I designed and 3D modeled popup events and brand activations for Panasonic, Whirlpool, and LG, including the design & build-out of vinyl-wrapped box trucks used at the events.I designed and developed a fully customized mobile web-app experience for Tablet Magazine, including streaming podcasts, and multimedia galleries.My years at Melee Media were wild, and crazy, and fast-paced. I loved every minute of it.

I taught Design Immersion multi-part courses focusing on an intensive balance between technical and conceptual design. Photoshop & Illustrator are completely exposed in-depth for the students, and we spent a great deal of time analyzing Industry Professionals portfolio's and those of the students.

Along with Tony Award Winning Producer Jared Geller, I helped to bring to life a handful of on & off Broadway shows and performances including Jerry Springer The Opera (starring Harvey Keitel), Kiki & Herb Alive On Broadway, The Family Guy 100th Episode Live at Carnegie Hall, The Wainwright Family Christmas Pageant at Carnegie Hall, Slava Snowshow, and Kevin Smith & Jeanine Garofolo Live at Carnegie Hall.

I spent three years at Apple designing & developing internal websites, marketing materials & newsletters using technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Adobe CS. One notable project being an internal "App Store" for employee resources, a website organizing and linking all the most important resources for Apple employees.I also taught workshops, Pro Software Labs, & One to One lessons in Logic Pro, HTML/CSS/JS, and Adobe CS.

I worked closely with various roles in the company to partner with international brands on identity, design, & web application development.Working with on a small but strong team of 3-4 other people, we designed and built custom web/app experiences for clients like Henry Bendel, The Starn Brothers, Precision Valve Corp, and many others.

As early as age 11, I was drawing and painting. I studied under oil painter James P. Repenning, attending a few years of classes before accepting a job as a teacher. I continued drawing & painting through the years, won "Best In Show" at MACSA Art Fest, and studied illustration at School of Visual Arts. Fine Arts have taken a back seat to programming & digital art, but I still try to make a painting or two every year, and I'm always drawing.

I taught fine-art painting & illustration to high-school and elementary aged students, using mediums like acrylic and oil paints, watercolors, and pastels. Subjects included anything under the sun, but primarily still-life, portraits, and landscapes. Works were show in an annual student art show where my jazz band played every year.In addition to teaching, I also prepared pieces for archival purposes, cut glass/mattes/frames, framed artworks, and studied oil painting under the owners and resident master painters James P. Repenning and Kristin McCutcheon.
