Commander / Executive Director, Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion

Led a Warrior Transition Battalion charged with transitioning our nations most wounded, injured, ill soldiers and their families back to the fight or successfully into our communities. Responsible for the Command and Control of an interdisciplinary team consisting of 185 military and civilian members (primary care providers, nurse case managers, licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrist, physical therapist, occupational therapists, clinical pharmacist, administrative and logistical staff) and volunteers to support 480 (capacity) wounded, ill, or injured service members as they transition back to the fight or to productive civilian lives. Responsible for all facets of command to include: leadership, strategic planning, training, budget management, personnel administration, equipment accountability.Accomplishments: • Successfully transitioned over 800 service members and families (utilizing 6 domains)• Established Adaptive Sports as the #2 priority of the battalion, modeled after US Paralympics Sports• Developed strong ties with our community to assist our soldiers and families in their efforts to transition into educational, training programs, or follow on careers• Developed a team culture that executed our mission in an environment of dignity and respect
