Through the British Council and Erasmus Scheme, I worked as an English Language Teaching Assistant at a grammar school in the German city of Recklinghausen.My responsibilities were to assist the English teachers (also in other other subjects) in class to help the students improve their English language skills. I would also often lead those classes myself, with activities and topics of my own as well as after school tutoring classes.Not only did I teach about the English language, but I also taught students about Welsh and British histories and cultures, to give broader learning and insight to young people.As a result of this placement, I have learnt to speak more confidently and interact with small and large groups of people, whilst taking on board the ways of life and culture of different country.
