Aaron Tuell is the Public Relations Manager of the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, where he’s served for 18 years contributing to award-winning marketing and social media campaigns. Aaron’s current position affords him the opportunity to take ownership of a lot of different Destination Marketing Organization responsibilities. Cultivating relationships with the news and travel press, and contractual work with the emergent business model of sponsored social media influencers are two of his core confidences. Aaron has provided developmental leadership for the Bureau’s social media program since its inception, which has grown to become one of the largest online audiences for a tourism destination in North Carolina and the Southeast. Aaron’s experience includes brand development, public speaking and presentations, television appearances, advisory committee service with government and non-profit organizations, industry information campaigns, and collaborating with national media brands and celebrities. He also brings to the table extensive experience in video production, having filmed and field produced television ads, and administered the award-winning OBX Daydream social media videos. Prior to joining the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau in 2006, Aaron was a television journalist for NBC affiliate WITN, where he worked for nearly six years as an on-air reporter turned Bureau Chief.
