About Aaron Turner

Registered Critical Care Paramedic with extensive experience in the prehospital sector. Specialist HAZMAT officer, with SME roles in STEMI and Trauma. Primary employment has been with St John with experience in Rural and remote areas of the Coromandel, metropolitan South Auckland, Dunedin and currently Christchurch.Perpetual student with many pieces of paper on the wall. Looking at confirming a MPhil in 2022 with a focus on prehospital trauma management / pathways and the potential utilisation of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). You never know.... It may turn into a PhD.Outside of my own study, I'm working to increase my own contribution to the profession by supporting the Canterbury STEMI pathway, and currently holding the Subject Matter Expert (SME) role for Trauma. I'm a preceptor for ICPs in Otautahi and enjoy developing others. I'm passionate for developing a sustainable workforce and ensuring our staff have a voice, while recognising their own mental health.In my down time (or lack there of) I enjoy escaping into the hills, exploring Aotearoa and getting onto the squash court. I'm a proud collector and coinsure of Gin, as we all need that down time.
