This is a one year training program in small animal emergency and critical care medicine that provides exposure to a large number of cases within a fully-staffed emergency service and intensive care unit. The training occurs at our main referral hospital at Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists with some rotations at our satellite speciality practice Alpenglow Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Boulder, Colorado. In addition, training is provided through elective rotations in areas of interest to the applicant. ECC interns have primary case responsibility and are involved in teaching of our veterinary technicians under the supervision of boarded specialists.

The initial mandate of the VIC Board of Directors is to explore the area of telehealth and its impact on veterinary medicine. The VIC Telehealth Project is focused on establishing practice relationships with mutual benefit where telehealth activities will be tested with the end goals of increasing efficiency within clinic workflows, creating success models utilizing telehealth tools, and providing better experiences for all stakeholders. The overarching objective of the VIC Telehealth Project is for veterinarians to have the freedom to use telehealth tools within their practice at their professional discretion in order to:
