I also provide technical assistance to conservation partners, local governments, and environmental regulatory state and federal agencies.I conduct on-site field investigation and analysis of erosion concerns, issue written advisory reports with recommended solutions, review engineering designs and construction plans, conduct on-site construction inspections, and provide guidance on available financial incentive programs for living shorelines. I translate the technical aspects of ecosystem services valuation to property owners to aid them in making decisions on shoreline management alternatives.I identify shoreline management practices (e.g., living shorelines) that qualify for Chesapeake Bay TMDL pollutant reduction credits, verify that installation of these practices meets federally-established specifications, and quantify and report the earned pollutant reduction credits as part of the Commonwealth’s efforts to meet goals established in the Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP).
