As a Regional Biologist, I manage restoration and conservation activities in the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta, and Suisun Marsh, California. My duties and responsibilities include grant writing, project management for the delivery of public and private wetland conservation projects, and other related conservation activities. Project initiation includes developing strong relationships with appropriate public and private landowners and agencies that have current or future potential to establish partnerships with DU to restore and enhance wetlands. Project delivery includes serving as project manager, coordinating with landowners, DU engineering staff, contractors, and permitting agencies to ensure timely and on-budget implementation of projects. Management of the program budget, negotiation of project agreements, field monitoring, and entries related to project tracking through DU’s business information system is also required. As the Regional Biologist I write and submit proposals to various funding agencies, foundations, and other funding sources to secure project funds and am responsible for the administration of these funds. Establishing and maintaining good relationships with conservation partners and funding entities are essential.

- Delineation of over 650 separate wetlands and 400 stream channels- Author of over 370 critical area and wildlife reports- Critical Area Violation assessment (wetland, aquatic area, and critical habitats) - Design and draft mitigation plans, which have included wetland creation, restoration, enhancement; stream channel and shoreline design. - Construction management - Monitoring habitat and mitigation plans• Hydrology, wildlife, and water quality monitoring• Plant survival and coverage monitoring and reporting - Cost analysis of mitigation plans - Complete biologic and habitat evaluations and assessments - Successful in securing projects through development of cost effective budgets and proposal writing. - Peer review experience: City of Kent, City of Edgewood and University Place. - Drafter (AutoCAD LT 2007) – site plans, grading plans and mitigation plans- Perform various IT responsibilities including network maintenance, data backup, workstation upkeep, and troubleshooting of various technology problems.Complete Permits:• 401 Water Quality Permits• 404 Nation Wide Permit• Hydrologic Project Approval (HPA)• SEPA and NEPA• County and City permits including: clearing and grading, variances, critical areas designation, alterations exception, reasonable use, and Pierce County single family certification.
