I am currently a D.O. candidate Class of 2024 at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY. I am actively searching for opportunities in research, mentorship in medical education, and community service to serve underserved and underprivileged communities. I have previously been engaged in health care policy making and advocacy for medical students, residents, and physicians through the American Medical Association (AMA) as well as the Medical Student Society of New York (MSSNY). I have a unique interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning and its uses in medicine and patient care.

Student ResearcherOxyvita Inc. At Touro University College Of Osteopathic Medicine Jan 2021 - Aug 2022- The OxyVita lab conducted bench research on novel artificial blood alternative products that may help with the nationwide shortage of blood. Thisproduct is a hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier that applies the powderization of protein components to plasma and to platelets. We tested the product'sviability and oxygen deliverance in various conditions of biological stress to test if the product can be used for clinical applications from traumatichemorrhages to blood transfusions in light of recent blood bank shortages.- My role as a student researcher involved running individual experiments, running mass spectrometry, and analyzing the results for significance.- Published two posters titled “An Approach to Measuring the Increased Reactive Oxygen Species Burden Caused by Blood Transfusions” and“Ascorbic Acid A Reducing Agent with the Ability to Become an Oxidizer When Too Much of a Good Thing Turns Bad”

Ama Chapter President, Mssny Chapter Representative, Ama Medical Student Outreach LeaderAmerican Medical Association (Ama) And Medical Society Of New York (Mssny) Jan 2021 - Jun 2022- The AMA Student Outreach Leader Program is a year-long internship with the American Medical Association to promote leadership, advocacy, policy-making, and community service events to medical students nationwide and the local chapters.- Participated in nationwide committees, debates, and policy-making town halls meeting students from allopathic and osteopathic medical schoolsacross the country.- Actively involved in healthcare policy and leadership at the state level through the Medical Society of New York (MSSNY) as well as voting on behalf of my constituents on new policies, such as transitioning USMLE Step 1/COMLEX Level 1 into a “pass/fail” grading scale for New York medical students.This experience taught me to speak up and be a constant advocate for those who do not have a voice. It was meaningful to see the impact working together as a team across the country has on the advancement of medicine and policy. It influenced me to get involved in policy-making and advocacy.

MentorMedachieve Scholars Program Dec 2020 - Jun 2022- Mentored and tutored high school students from underserved local public high schools in the Hudson Valley who are interested in pursuing a career inhealthcare and STEM-related fields.- Hosted weekly meetings to discuss different topics within healthcare including emergency medicine, cardiology, anatomy, first aid, and pharmacologyto further their interest in medicine and science.- Collectively advised around 30 students, and personally 3 students, throughout the course of an academic year on pathways for college and highereducation and discussed strategies to excel in college.This experience is meaningful because it showed me the evident gaps in education and mentorship which has continued to influenceme to continue to bridge these gaps for the next generation. Without proper mentorship, many students do not achieve their full potential, which I hopeto help change.

Student ResearcherTouro University College Of Osteopathic Medicine Jan 2021 - May 2022- Conducted extensive literature review and study of the “physician-patient relationship” and what the views of medical students are in regard toeffective communication styles and barriers to effective communication in various settings such as an outpatient clinic, emergency department, andoperating room.- Analyzed the differences in interactions amongst various specialties ranging from primary care to surgery and how physicians can better interact withtheir patients to provide higher patient satisfaction and treatment.- Inquired of a deficit in medical education at the level of the medical schools as well as residency education in teaching students how to interact withpatients in the most effective manner.- Presented “Improving the Physician-Patient Relationship” during the Student Osteopathic Medical Association Medical Student Symposium.

Medical Service Committee ChairSigma Sigma Phi (Ssp) Honors Service Fraternity Aug 2021 - Feb 2022- Led efforts to provide volunteer services to the greater Hudson Valley Area in areas of medical aid and philanthropy such as initiating medical supplydrives, creating brochures to provide medical education, and organizing an annual health fair.- Spearheaded the Health Fair at the local homeless shelter called the Warming Station to provide basic medical necessities and medical education toresidents of the homeless shelter and the local community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We collaborated with various organizations from themedical school to provide education including but not limited to mental health awareness, diabetes care, hypertension and high cholesterol prevention,skin protection, and healthy living.- We operated a clinic that provided blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse ox screenings, as well as a general physical exam, and basic vitals includingheight, weight, etc. as well as COVID tests.- Organized naloxone training seminars for 20 residents and shelter volunteers.

Medical Outreach Committee LeadDelta Clinic Jan 2018 - Jun 2019- Delta Clinic was an initiative to provide medical necessities like feminine hygiene products, dental hygiene kits, first aid supplies, mental healthawareness, HIV/AIDS awareness, etc. to residents of the Trenton Rescue Mission homeless shelter in Trenton, NJ prior to the winter season.- Provided the homeless shelter residents with USBs with their pertinent medical information including, but not limited to, past medical history,allergies, past surgical history, emergency contacts, and current medications in the event of a medical emergency for the responders to accessimmediately and provide care accordingly in the ambulance and emergency department.-Initiated “Humans of Trenton” where we asked the residents of the shelter to tell their stories of who they are, where they came from, and whateverthey wanted to convey to the larger community. This experience gave us meaningful insights into the lives of so many individuals who live in ourcommunity who we would not have interacted with otherwise.This experience influenced me to see individuals and patients with humility and compassion because I saw a glimpse of the everyday struggles faced by so many. It made me reflect on how precious life is and how every person deserves to be helped, a quality that has shaped how I few patients now.
