I am a Bulk Fuel Terminal Manager I have over 10 years experience of working within the petroleum industry with the private sector and the British Military. I have been trained and gained practical experience to undertake the receipt, inspection, storage and issue of bulk and packed petroleum products. Also planning of issues to customers, making sure transporters have been booked and tracking them on computer software.Using Quality control of fuels is essential ensuring they are fit for issue and safety of user, as well as how to set up and dismantle flexible tankage and pipeline systems, also the use of issue and delivery equipment, operate the varied types of container filling and cleaning apparatus, carrying out tank to tank transfers.Also carrying out B- tests on aviation and diesel products to test quality.Such as freeze points, EC testing, copper corrosive, distillation and filtration tests.Also working with transport companies, making sure drivers are available and that the tankers are fit for operations. I have also learn the various causes, prevention measures and methods of controlling petroleum fires, as well as receiving in-depth instruction in fire-fighting techniques. I have also been trained to operate line and radio communication equipment.I have also had practical experience of stocktaking and running an account of fuel products, changing of filters and tank dips. I am aware that accounts are liable for audits and must be kept up to date, discrepancies must be investigated.I understand security problems and aware of cultural differences, that may cause misunderstanding and problems.
